  • Fall Family Vacation

    • Day 1

Wake up and have a simple breakfast in your suite followed by some leaf collecting and water wading next door at the Samuel Donian Wetland Preserve. (Bring your rain boots!)

Make tracks to East Troy and take the afternoon round-trip train to the Elegant Farmer for apple and pumpkin picking, a corn maze, make-your-own-caramel apples and the orchard’s famous pulled pork sandwich and chili.

Return to home base at The Cove and splash around in our indoor pool and hot tub. Floaties and pool toys welcome!

Walk to the adjoining Sprecher’s Pub, complete with crow hats and kids’ menus.

Suds up the kids in the suite’s whirlpool tub, pop some popcorn (or slice up that paper bag pie you likely purchased at Elegant Farmer), and cuddle up by the fire for movie or game night.  Lights out! Tomorrow will be another fun-filled day!

      Day 2

Rise and shine, then drop a line at the public piers by Library Park for pan fish aplenty. (Caffeine stops along the way include Starbucks, Avant, Egg Harbor and the Colectivo coffee bar at The Cove.)

Stroll the Streets of Lake Geneva, with required stops at Aerial Stunt Kites (for sky merchandise and brain games), Allison Wonderland toy store (for everything from elegant dress-ups to science kits and Playmobil), and Geneva Gifts (for classic Wisconsin souvenirs, including back scratchers, moccasins and bead necklaces).

Grab lunch downtown at Potbelly’s or the Canteen and picnic at Lake Geneva’s Riviera Beach or Library Park.  Else, dine at Oakfire pizza or Popeye’s for waterfront views.

Take a trek to Pearce’s Farm Stand for some fresh fruit and veggies, hay bale jumping, and cider donuts – then cook up a family-friendly meal in your suite or order a pizza from next door’s Gino’s East.

Wrap up an amazing evening with the grand illusions of Tristan Crist or the traditional Little Magic Theater, the latter run by a world-renowned deaf magician. Or, if you’re more of a movie-goer, take a cozy seat in the newly restored Geneva Theater downtown. All are within walking distance of The Cove!

      Day 3

Loosen up those muscles with a morning hike, and pick up the Geneva Lake Shore Path across the street. Download the VISIT Lake Geneva app for a map of the famed mansions along the way.

Board the 11:30am, one-hour Geneva Bay historic boat tour at Riviera Pier and sail the sparkling waters of Geneva Lake.

Return downtown for those items you didn’t buy that you wish you had and a relaxing lunch at farm-to-table Simple Café before hitting the road for home, with plans to return again soon!

  • Autumn Couple's Retreat

    • Day 1

Wind down from your urban existence today. Wake up and walk to breakfast – from a simple Starbucks one block away to a farm-to-table spread at Egg Harbor, Simple Café, or Joni’s Diner.

Stroll through downtown’s charming shopping district and browse designer clothing, artisan jewelry, high-end footwear, antiques, unique home décor, and toys galore. Lake Geneva merchants deliver the goods.
Time to dine again? Cozy up with a table at Oakfire for fresh Napoletana-style pizza or Popeye’s for their signature rotisserie chicken. Both establishments serve up sparkling waterfront views of Riviera Beach. Or, if you’d rather, take to the lake on the luncheon tour aboard the Grand Belle.

The afternoon sun calls. Drive down Snake Road through a gold-drenched canopy or rent bikes at Avant downtown and wheel about the lake’s quaint resort towns and country roads. (If you need a boost up the hills, electric models are available by reservation from Lake Geneva E-Bike Company.)

Settle in for some live and a glass of vino at Studio Winery from 4-8pm – or hit the Fireside dinner-theater’s “Elvis Lives” performance in Ft. Atkinson. (This theater-in-the-round is worth the trek if you’re a fan of The King.)

Looking for an alternative? How about swinging over to Geneva National for the Nine & Dine special, with nine holes of golf on the Palmer, Player or Trevino tracks followed by dinner at the resort’s award-winning Hunt Club Steakhouse or Clubhouse Grill Room?

      Day 2

Yesterday was for lounging; today is one of action.  Lace up those hikers and walk across the street to the 21-mile Geneva Shore Path. Download the VISIT Lake Geneva app for a map of the famed mansions and refreshing pit stops for grabbing lunch along the way. Other popular area trails include Big Foot Beach State Park, Kishwauketoe and Kettle Morraine’s John Muir Trails.
Spend the afternoon picking a peck of apples at Elkhorn’s Apple Barn Orchard & Winery and sip a bit of their award-winning fruit wines while noshing on cider donuts, pumpkin cookies and caramel apples.

From here, you can either stay the course with wine tasting – and stops at The Bottle Shop, Barrique Wine Bar, Crafted Americana, and Delavan’s Staller Estate Vineyard & Winery – or keep your body in motion with spectacular fall zip-lining or high ropes challenges at Lake Geneva Canopy Tours. If you brave the latter, inquire at the Front Desk for $10 off your adventure.

You deserve a break – whether it’s in The Cove’s poolside hot tub, your in-suite whirlpool, or a downtown spa – before heading out to dinner. Let us help you find just the right spot – from supper club to fine dining.

      Day 3

If you missed that zip-line opportunity yesterday, you can sail through the trees on a sunrise ride at 8am.  Else, sleep in and board Lake Geneva Cruise Line’s mid-morning vintage boat tour, a must when in Lake Geneva. Ask the Front Desk about discount tickets and walk to the Riviera Pier to set sail on Geneva Lake’s sparkling spring-fed waters.

Return downtown for those items you didn’t buy yet that you wish you had – then head to the Cheese Box for stacked sandwiches and iconic Dairyland souvenirs. By now you’ve realized that life is better at The Lake, and you best make your holiday or Winterfest reservations before setting out for home.  We look forward to your return!
