Annual Swift Night Out

The City of Lake Geneva’s Avian Committee invites any and all guests to the Annual Swift Night Out!
This will be located at the Geneva Museum at 255 Mill Street, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin 53147, within walking distance of The Cove.
The event focuses on chimney swifts, which are a local bird species who roost in chimneys and other narrow spaces. They do not perch as most birds when resting, however their long talons are more fit to grip onto the edge of walls and other hard surfaces….especially the inside of chimneys! Due to the decline in use of chimneys across the continent and the redesign of many chimneys to be less open, the population of chimney swifts has also declined. This event serves as both a fun and educational event for the family in the name of conservation.
During this evening, chimney swifts will be in the hundreds in the sky for a spectacular natural phenomenon.
5:00 PM – Enjoy a selection of food trucks for a meal until the main event.
6:00 PM – Schlitz Audubon Nature Center presents an educational program, featuring a bald eagle and other birds of prey.
7:15 PM – Watch as hundreds of chimney swifts cover the sky at dusk and dive down the museum’s chimney!
